David A. Francis

David Francis, a dedicated personal injury attorney, brings a deeply personal commitment to advocating for his clients at LifeLaw. Born in Salt Lake City and raised in the tight-knit community of Teton, Idaho, David’s roots in the Mountain West shaped his values of integrity and perseverance. He earned his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University and graduated with honors from California Western School of Law, where he honed his legal acumen and passion for justice.
David’s drive to practice personal injury law ignited at the age of sixteen by a profound family tragedy. His sister, Suzie, was killed in a motor vehicle accident in Idaho as a fault free passenger. Witnessing the insurance company’s attempt to undervalue her life at $32,000, despite a $1,000,000 policy being available. This experience exposed the harsh realities of insurance practices and fueled his resolve to fight for fair compensation for his clients. Drawing on this and other personal experiences, David approaches each case with empathy, tenacity, and a commitment to securing the best possible outcomes.
David began his legal career as an associate at Beckley Singleton, an insurance defense firm. This experience gave him firsthand insight into how large insurance companies operate and their financial incentives to deny or minimize bodily injury claims they are contractually obligated to pay. David then took this knowledge to his plaintiff’s practice, where he began representing injured victims and advocating for their rights against these same insurance companies.
With over 20 years as a civil litigator, David has tried multiple jury trial cases for his clients, securing significant jury verdicts, including multi-million dollar awards. This extensive litigation and trial experience has equipped him with the skills necessary to effectively compete against well-funded, billion dollar insurance companies and their defense counsel who have been minimizing injury claims for decades. David brings this comprehensive experience to every clients representation today.
Beyond the courtroom, David finds balance and inspiration in the Wasatch Mountain Range, where he creates lasting memories with his family through hiking, backpacking, and skiing. An accomplished athlete, David also an avid cyclist who competed as a member of the U.S Cycling Team for three years. During this time, he lived in France and Mexico, racing internationally alongside cycling legends such as Lance Armstrong, Jonathon Vaughters, and George HIncapie. These experiences instilled in him discipline and a competitive spirit that he brings to his legal practice.
